About Me
I'm a computer scientist working in applied machine learning and scalable algorithms. I used to work on algorithms for streaming data, indexing, and distributed databases. Update (Jan 2018)- I'm at a new ML company differentiable.io From 2015-2018 I was Chief Scientist at Insidesales.com where we apply ML to improve the effectiveness of B2B sales teams. From 2014-15 I was CTO of C9 (acquired by Insidesales in 2015) where we worked on modeling sales processes (see here and here). In 2012, I built Featurestream.io (see here, here and here), a service for building ML models on streaming data using a variation on streaming Random Forests on Spark streaming. From 2009-12, I was founder/CTO at Acunu. We built an engine for analytics on streaming data using Cassandra and sketching techniques. We also developed the Stratified B-tree, a write-optimized versioned indexing algorithm (see here, here, here). From 2008-13, I was in the CS dept at Oxford and a fellow at St Johns College. I finished my PhD on graph routing algorithms at Cambridge in 2006, and worked at Microsoft Research Cambridge and Technicolor Research Paris on distributed randomized streaming algorithms from 2006-2008.
